How do I make an appointment?

You can either call one of our offices directly and speak to one of our friendly staff or you can fill out our Online Form with your details and preferred appointment time and one of our consultants will contact you.

Can I do my Tax Return online?

With QTAX you can use our website to Make An Appointment with our tax consultants, or use our Online Tax Return system to start your lodgement online.

How do I apply for a Job with QTAX?

Any and all prospective employees must complete our internal Tax Training School. This course is run once every year during the following times:

 

Day Course: March – June (Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays).

Night Course: February – June (Tuesdays and Wednesdays).

 

A correspondence course is available to students (February – June) for those who are unable to attend either the day or night classes.

Do I have to lodge a tax return?

This will depend on your age, situation, income and expenses. A tax return must be lodged if you:

  • Have paid any tax during the financial year
  • Have earned more than $18,200 in the financial year
  • Paid child support, or;
  • Are a minor earning over $416.

Ask a QTAX consultant for advice on whether or not you need to lodge a tax return.

What deductions am I entitled to for my occupation?

Different deductions can be claimed for different occupations and can depend on any allowances you have been paid and the receipts that you still possess. QTAX recommends that any and all work and business related expenses are recorded (with receipts being kept and stored safely) and that a diary and/or logbook is maintained.

All of these things will need to be brought with you in order to prepare your return.

Can I have my fee taken out of my refund?

Providing there is a sufficient amount in your ATO refund, you are able to have the fee for preparing your tax return automatically taken out of your refund. The net amount remaining will then be deposited into your nominated bank account. A small additional processing fee is charged for this service.

How long will my refund take?

Last year, the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) processed 90% of all returns from tax agents within 14 working days (Mondays – Fridays). Some delays can be experienced with data matching between the ATO, Centrelink and other government agencies. If you haven’t received your refund within 21 days, contact the QTAX office where your return was prepared.
